Credentials
Licensed and insured — and what that means in Texas
NXT Level GC is licensed and insured. Here is the honest second half, which most contractor sites leave out: Texas issues no statewide roofing or general-contractor licence, so there is no state licence number for this work — not ours, not anybody’s. What we can put in your hands is our certificate of insurance and the permit record for your city. Ask for both before you sign, with us or with anyone else.
Straight answer
About "licensed" — the part most contractor sites skip
Texas does not issue a statewide general-contractor licence, and it does not license roofing contractors either — the bill that would have created one died in the 2025 session. So when any contractor tells you they are “licensed” in Texas for roofing or general construction — us included — that phrase is not pointing at a state licence you can look up, because there is not one to point at. Individual trades are licensed: electricians and plumbers hold state licences, and we use licensed ones. Ask any contractor you talk to — including us — for their certificate of insurance and a permit history before you sign. That is the document that actually means something.
How we work
Four things we do not compromise on
Not wall decoration. These are the four rules we hire against, schedule against, and settle arguments with when a job gets difficult — which every job eventually does.
Do it once, properly
A job is judged by what it looks like in five years, not on handover day. We would rather spend an extra afternoon getting the flashing detail right than come back for a leak that was avoidable.
Move fast, because waiting costs you
We schedule tightly and we start on the date we gave you. A crew that turns up when it said it would is most of what people actually mean when they say they found a good contractor.
Decide it the way we would decide it at home
Every call on your project starts from what is right for the house and the person paying for it — not from what is easiest to schedule or best for our margin.
The people who show up are ours
We hire skilled trades, keep them, and send the same faces back. Whoever is standing in your kitchen is the whole company as far as you are concerned, and we treat that as the job.
Our commitment
Six promises, and they are in writing
Six things you can hold us to on any project, and repeat back to us if we miss one.
- You get an honest assessment and an honest price, including when the answer is that the work can wait
- You hear from us on a schedule, not only when something has gone wrong
- We arrive when we said and finish when we said — or you hear why before the date passes, not after
- The site is left clean at the end of every day, not only at the end of the job
- The warranty terms go into your contract, and we come back on them
- Your house, your yard and your neighbors are treated the way we would want ours treated
